PURPOSE:To smoothly pass over projecting parts and recessed parts of the surface in the case where projecting parts and recessed parts exist on the surface of a material to be ground such as a steel plate to peel the mill scale and the paint stuck to the surface of the material to be ground. CONSTITUTION:A frame 1 is formed with an arm 1b suspended down obliquely, and a support member 3 is fixed to the tip of this arm 1b. A shaft of a driving pulley 7 is supported by the support member 3 freely to rotate, and a turning frame 10 is installed on the support member 3 freely to turn. A grinding pulley 11 and a tension pulley 19 are fitted to predetermined positions of the turning frame 10, and the grinding pulley 11 and an air cylinder 12 fitted to a seat 1c of the frame 1 are connected. The air cylinder 12 brings the grinding pulley 11 into pressure-contact with a material to be ground and makes a grinding belt 6 travel for grinding. At this stage, in the case where projecting parts and recessed parts such as a step part exist in the material to be ground, a rod 12b is inserted into the cylinder 12, and the turning frame 10 is turned around of the support member 3. |
