PURPOSE:To increase polishing efficiency by enabling the movement of a buff rotating shaft relative to a worked material, moving it during the polishing process, making a buff in contact forcibly with the surface of the worked material, and feeding abrasive grain added polishing fluid continuously. CONSTITUTION:An automobile wheel material 1 is placed on a rotary table 11 with its center aligned with the rotating center O-O of the table 11 and the rotary table 11 is rotated at a low speed. Also a buff 13 is made in contact with the design surface 2 of the wheel material 1, and rotated by a rotating shaft 12. In this case, polishing is made while abrasive grain added polishing fluid is fed. The rotating direction of the rotary table 11 is reversed at proper intervals, and the work portion is moved in the circumferential direction. Then, when the rotating direction of the rotary table 11 is reversed, the buff 13 is raised by a lifting device 15 to separate it from the design surface 2 and reversely rotate the rotating shaft 12. Also, when the rotating direction of the rotary table 11 is reversed, the buff 13 is pressed with the same pressing force as before reversed, and rotated in the same direction as the table 11. This cycle is made repeatedly. |
