<p>PURPOSE:To reduce a processed variable by performing the various kinds of judgement in encoding processing and device by utilizing a motion vector. CONSTITUTION:A frame/field judge circuit 15 performs the judgement by using an output from a motion vector detection circuit 14 and based on the result, an orthogonal transformation circuit 4 performs orthogonal transformation to differential image data. On the other hand, an encoding circuit 16 optimizes the order of scanning inside small blocks by using the output from the motion vector detection circuit 14 and since the scanning inside the small blocks of quantized data is performed according to this order of scanning, variable length codes are allocated. Thus, the processed variable is reduced in the case of the frame/field judgement or scanning order judgement at the DCT, processing speed is accelerated, and the amount of encoded data to be generated is reduced.</p> |
