PURPOSE:To exchange developer when the service life of the developer is finished at a low cost and without deterioration in the developing function by exchanging the developer cartridge by recovering the developer on the surface of a developing roller and carrying out exchange of it separated from a developing frame including the developing roller. CONSTITUTION:The developer cartridge 54 is an exchange part which is fitted to a developer cartridge containing space 51a, its top part is sectioned into the toner cartridge containing space 54a where the toner cartridge 55 is engaged and a developer container containing space 54b where a developer container 56 is fitted and its bottom part is provided with a box type cartridge frame 54d with a developer containing space 54c section. The printed number of pieces is counted by CPU and the developer exchange timing is informed when the number of pieces where the service life of the developer 61 is finished is reached. Then, the developer 61 is recovered to the developer containing space 54c of the developer cartridge 54, the developer cartridge 54 is extracted from the developing device frame 51 and the exchange is carried out with the new developer for each cartridge. |
