The selector includes fine adjustment and coarse adjustment selectors which are made in differently constructed groups in separate casings and driven by a motor. The coarse selector has fixed contacts (2.1...2.m+1) on the walls (2) of the case and moving contacts (8,9) pass over these fixed contacts driven by concentric axles (6,7) which cross the central part of the case vertically. Another Maltese drive (12), driven by the motor axle (3) has an upper drive cam (12.1) and a lower drive cam (12.2), 180 degrees out of phase with the upper cam, driving respectively the upper (4) and lower (5) principal Maltese wheels. These have cams (4.1,4.2) driving upper and lower slotted wheels (13,14) linking with the concentric axles. ADVANTAGE - Less complex, fewer specialist parts, easier construction. |
