<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having low toxicity to human body and poisoning, not precipitating hard cake, having excellent re-dispersibility, comprising titanium oxide treated with alumina, a carboxyl-containing (meth) acrylate resin and an alcoholic solvent. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition comprises (A) titanium oxide treated alumina, (B) a carboxyl-containing (meth)acrylate resin and (C) an alcoholic solvent (e.g. methanol). The component A, for example, is obtained by grinding titanium oxide such as rutile structure titanium oxide by a wet method, classifying by centrifugation to give a slurry of fine particles, adding an aqueous solution of Al salt to the slurry, neutralizing, adsorbing formed aluminum oxide hydrate on the surface of titanium oxide. The component B is preferably obtained by copolymerizing a (meth)acrylic acid hydroxyalkyl ester such as 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate with a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester such as methyl acrylate and a carboxyl-containing monomer such as acrylic acid.</p> |
