<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of water and foreign matter to the face surface of a golf club head and the flawing of the face surface at the time of hitting a ball and to prolong the flying distance of the ball by constituting the face surface of a material exhibiting high water repellency of the contact angle of a specific value. CONSTITUTION:The face surface 2 of the golf club head 1 is constituted of a face insert 6 and the insert 6 is integrally fixed to a head body 7. The face surface 2 is constituted of the material having the water repellency of >=90 deg. contact angle. If the face surface is constituted of the highly water-repellent material, the face surface 2 effectively repels water even in a rainy weather or even when lawn is wet with dew, and therefore, the water hardly sticks to the face surface 2. The pressure of the air between the face surface 2 and the ball is compressed and the pressure is extremely increased just before the hitting, otherwise, even if some water drops stick on the face surface 2, and therefore, the water drops sticking thereto are effectively blown and the water does not substantially exist between the face surface 2 and the ball when the face surface 2 hits the ball.</p> |
