<p>PURPOSE:To prevent quality reduction of an Indian lotus root due to a long-term storage by wrapping the Indian lotus root in a water-absorbing paper, enclosing it together with a gas absorbent in a film bag exhibiting a low gas-permeability and keeping the concentration of carbon dioxide and the storage temperature, respectively within a specified range. CONSTITUTION:An Indian lotus root 1 is wrapped in a water-absorb paper 2 and enclosed together with a gas absorbent 3 in a film bag 4 exhibiting a low gas-permeability. The concentration of CO2 and the storage temperature are kept respectively to <=10% and 0 to <=30 deg.C. Growth of a mould or occurrence of carbon dioxide injury can be prevented.</p> |
