<p>The disclosed process produces and recovers fractions of materials, containing most of the original weight of the treated material, with a sufficient degree of separation. Most of the material thus recovered is suitable for industrial reuse. The process is particularly suitable for sport equipment made mainly of plastic and/or wood in conjunction with metal components, such as skis, ski boots, snowboards, skateboards, and safety helmets. The steps of the process comprise mechanical shredding and several stages of mechanical and physical separation, but no incineration. The process is environmentally acceptable and easy to operate. A suitable plant that consists mainly of shredding units and various types of separator units can preferably be made as a mobile assembly and, for example, installed in a road vehicle.</p> |
