The electronic identification coding system has a number of switchable resonator elements (1) that are identified by electromagnetic field interaction. Each unit has a detection resonator, with one frequency and a second, or 'burn-out' resonator (3) with a different frequency. A number of the elements are used to generate a specific code that is identified by field excitation. The elements can be formed as an array in a multi-layer construction. USE/ADVANTAGE - Flexible, non-contact coding for product identification of goods in shops, to enable multiple decision possibilities to be made and wide range of applications.
