The machine produces an internally-toothed annular or pot-shaped gear. The teeth extend for only part of its length, the remainder accommodating a seal etc. A toothed mandrel (3, 4) forms the tool, and one or more rollers (5) fold the blank (1) over the tool, pressing it into the grooves between the teeth and against the untoothed portion of the tool.A single pass by the rollers presses the blank right into the grooves, and then the remaining portion (1) against the untoothed part (7) of the tool. The blank can be in the form of a disc or a cup, its ID in the latter case being greater than the OD of the tool.
