PURPOSE:To provide mild and swelling distortion effects like distortion caused by a vacuum tube even with a digital process. CONSTITUTION:A musical signal inputted from the electric guitar or the like is A/D converted by an A/D converter 3 and inputted to a DSP 7. Inside the DSP 7, distortion arithmetic is programmed by a microprogram. This DSP 7 performs the cubic expression arithmetic of Y=(3/2)X[1-(1/3)X*X] by providing a multiplication process to perform multi-degree expression arithmetic for performing distortion arithmetic and a process for multiplying a constant. The degree of loading the desired distortion effect can be adjusted by serially connecting such a tertiary expression part 13 and performing amplification adjustment processing with a parameter DRV between them. When the other effect application processing is completed at the DSP 7, the signal is outputted by a D/A converter 6 as an analog signal. |
