PURPOSE:To obtain an automotive engine oil (lubricating oil compsn. for automobiles) low in phosphorus concn but capable of exhibiting an excellent abrasion resistance as compared with an engine oil wherein use is made of a conventional level of a zinc dialkyldithiophosphate. CONSTITUTION:In an engine oil compsn. comprising a metal cleaner, a zinc dialkyldithiophosphate and an ash-free boron-contg. dispersant dissolved or dispersed in a base oil, at least one additive selected from among aliph. amide compds. and dithiocarbamate compds. is further dissolved or dispersed. |
