<p>PURPOSE:To display and scroll a screen at a high speed by changing the information amount of display information between a part close to a specific locus and a part distant from it, thereby reducing the information volume of information displayed on the whole of the picture. CONSTITUTION:Scroll of the screen is detected by a scroll detecting part 1, and the specific locus on the map data is detected from data in a locus data part 2 and a map data memory part 3 by a locus detecting part 4. Data of the detected specific locus on map data are used to divide the map picture area into the part for the display of detailed map picture data on the screen and the for display of rough map picture data by an area dividing part 5. Data to be displayed are selected from data read out from the map data memory part 3 by a data selecting part 6 in accordance with the display area divided by the area dividing part 5 and are sent to a picture display part 7 to display the map picture. That is, even narrow roads and to down names are displayed in the part close to the specific locus, and only wide roads are displayed in the part distant from it.</p> |
