PURPOSE:To prevent the remaining of small air bubbles and the wasteful consumption of ink at the time of the connection of an ink tank, in an ink tank replacing type ink jet cartridge, by improving the operation sequence of a suction recovery pump. CONSTITUTION:With respect to the recovery sequence at the time of the replacement of an ink tank using a pump unit, at first, in a step S1, it is judged whether a suction command is issued and, when the suction command is issued, the next step S2 is executed and, when the suction command is not issued, the sequence is not adapted. In the step S2, it is judged whether the suction command is issued on the basis of the detection of the displacement of the ink tank. When the suction command is judged after the replacement of the ink tank, a step 3 is executed and, when the suction command is not judged, a step 6 is executed. In the step 6, 0 is substituted for the flag TC of the replacement of the ink tank and, thereafter, a step S7 is executed. |
