Non-stop stacking mechanism installed in sheet handler

The sheets are dropped onto the stack from an overhead conveyor. When the stack is full a shutter comprising a set of rollers (5) is interposed into the feed to take the sheets until the stack can be used again. The rollers are driven via rack-and-pinion supports at the ends of the rollers.The first roller is driven at different rate to prevent sheets from being damaged. The first roller is driven by a chain drive from a motor and has a high friction surface layer to grip the sheets. The rear of the shutter has a grip for the trailing edge of the sheets.
