PURPOSE:To make the scanning distance of a recording head unit shorter than that in a case printing one line by a single printing head by printing a dot having a predetermined color by adapting a subtractive color mixture method to the first of a line by a plurality of printing heads arranged on the upstream side in a scanning direction. CONSTITUTION:An yellow printing head 1, a magenta printing head 2, a cyan printing head 3 and a black printing head 4 are parallelly arranged along the scanning direction of a recording head unit 5. A distance A-B is the min. scanning width 10 of the recording head unit 5 and a distance C-D is a black independent printable range 11 and a distance E-D is a black printable range 12 containing subtractive color mixture and a distance C-F is a four-color mixture printable range 14. The black printable range 12 containing the subtractive color mixture becomes possible in wider printing as compared with the four- color mixture printable range 14 and the black independent printable range 11 and the scanning distance of the recording head unit 5 at the time of the printing of one line can be shortened. |
