Valve seat ring

The valve seat ring for upper valve in internal combustion engine is made of a wear-resistant metal and has an annular conical configuration. It is cast into the cylinder head, and its inner circumferential surface serves as a sealing surface. The ring is characterised by the fact that it is a disc-shaped and that its sealing surface (30, 32, 43) forms only a part of the total sealing surface (28) in the cylinder head (10), pref. 30-70%.The valve seat ring is made of beryllium bronze. In the region of the sealing surface, it is melt-alloyed by means of an energy source.
