The copying appts. has a receiver part (11) and paper output (12) connected to a receiving line (21). The paper output is connected to a sorter (13) which operates according to transmission and/or reception specific control. The sorter output fan (16) is connected to the receiver part via a control arrangement (17). The control arrangement includes a control device (23) which switches a sorter shelf (16) for each input copy. The control arrangement includes an address circuit (22) for addressing a specific shelf of the sorter. The copier (10) is connected to a digital telecommunication network.
