SPECIAL SHAPED CONCRETE BLOCK FOR BREAKWATER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To avoid and gravity separation of ready-mixed concrete and to obtain the block of relatively high sp.gr. excellent in chemical stability and mechanical property by forming a specified sp. gr. hardened body of the mixture of a cement paste and a fine aggregate consisting of sand and an iron oxide- base iron ore. CONSTITUTION:This special shaped concrete block for the breakwater consists of the hardened body of the mixed material of 100 pts.wt. of cement paste with water-to-cement ratio controlled to 0.4-0.6, 100-450 pts.wt. of the fine aggregate, 100-450 pts.wt. of the coarse aggregate and 150-500 pts.wt. of the coarse aggregate. The sp.gr. of the hardened body is controlled to 2.4-2.9, the fine aggregate consists of sand and an iron oxide-base iron ore having 5.0-0.1mm grain diameter and 2.9-5.0 sp.gr., and the coarse aggregate consists of ballast and an iron oxide-base iron ore having 40-5.0mm grain diameter and 2.9-5.0 sp.gr. The fine aggregate contains 10-90wt.% of sand and 90-10wt.% of the iron oxide-base iron ore, and the coarse aggregate contains 100-0wt.% of ballast and 0-100wt.% of the iron oxide-base iron ore. The sp.gr. of the mortar consisting of the cement paste and fine aggregate is adjusted to 2.1-2.9.
