PURPOSE:To effectively clean a work without deteriorating working environment or causing environmental pollution by cleaning the work with the vapor of petroleum solvent under reduced pressure and then drying the work surface under reduced pressure. CONSTITUTION:A door 3 is opined to place a work W on a rack in a cleaning chamber 1, then the door 3 is closed to evacuate the chamber 1 to about 5-100 Torr by a vacuum pump P, and petroleum solvent 4 is heated by a heater 7 to about 50-180 deg.C. As a result, the chamber 1 is filled with the solvent vapor, the work W is cleaned and heated to about 45-175 deg.C, and the solvent vapor is deposited on the work surface. The work is continuously heated to the temp. of the vaporized solvent 4, the heater 7 is stopped, cold water is passed through a cooling coil 8 to cool the solvent 4, hence the work W surface is dried, gaseous nitrogen is introduced into the chamber 1 from an inert gas source G to return the chamber 1 to atmospheric pressure, and the door 3 is opened to take out the cleaned work W. |
