PURPOSE:To prevent a hunting phenomenon until the actual vehicle speed is settled to a set vehicle speed, by employing a vehicle speed at which the vehicle deceleration becomes zero, as a reset vehicle speed curing a set vehicle speed being set at the time when the vehicle speed reaches a desired vehicle speed after acceleration and deceleration. CONSTITUTION:During traveling at a constant speed, when the driver manipulates a changing instruction means 4 to change a set vehicle speed into another one, a vehicle sped change control section 5 in a vehicle speed control means 3 controls an actuator 1 in accordance with a change instruction to regulate the amount of fuel fed into an engine. When the change instruction delivered from the change instruction means 4 disappears, the vehicle at that time is stored as a set vehicle speed in a vehicle speed control means 3, and the actuator 1 is controlled in accordance with the deviation between the above-mentioned set vehicle speed and an actual vehicle speed detected by a vehicle speed detecting means 2. Further, an acceleration and deceleration calculating means 6 calculates an acceleration or deceleration during that time, and a vehicle speed at the time when the deceleration becomes zero is read up as a reset vehicle speed in a reset vehicle speed setting section 7 to use the control of constant vehicle speed. |
