<p>PURPOSE:To simply remove dross at a low cost by providing an eaves-like projection having a dross scraping hole with a cover in a filter chamber arranged with a filter unit sideways arranged with many ceramic-made filter tubes. CONSTITUTION:In the filter vessel 1 composed of refractories covering a roof body 15 on the opened upper surface 2, the filter unit 6 composed of sideways arranged with many ceramic-made filter tubes 11 between end plates 9, 10 is arranged and fixed to the side wall 14 through a wedge 12. Molten metal is charged into the filter chamber 5 formed in such a way from a molten metal inlet 7 and filtered with the filter tubes 11 and taken out from a molten metal outlet 8. In the molten metal filter vessel 1, the eaves-like projecting edge 20 is formed at the side wall 3 in the filter chamber 5 and a cover 21 is arranged in this opening part. By this method, on the upper surface of the projecting edge 20, a dross scraping hole 19, in which the floated up dross can be scraped by inserting a handy tool while looking around the whole surface of the filter chamber 5 is formed. Further, an upper heater 16 for preheating the filter unit 6 is fitted to the lower surface of the roof body 15 and an immersion tube including the heater for heating the molten metal is desirably arranged.</p> |
