<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the operation by calculating an intermitted recording interval and a total intermitted recording time optimized by an arithmetic operation section and displaying them onto a display section when time data for intermittent recording interval and a capacity of a recording medium in use are directly inputted to their relevant setting sections. CONSTITUTION:When intermittent recording interval time data TIN are inputted to an intermittent recording interval setting section 6, an arithmetic operation section 8 calculates an optimum intermittent recording interval TW. The result is an integral number of multiple of frame or field times of a video signal by this calculation method, then the data TIN are matched to the value of the integral number of multiple and the interval TW is calculated according to a prescribed equation. Furthermore, when information of a recording capacity of a recording medium is inputted to a recording capacity setting section 7, the arithmetic operation section 8 calculates the total recording time from the data TIN and the interval TW. Then a system control section 2 controls an intermittent recording control section 4 and a video signal processing section 5 based on the interval TW to execute the intermittent recording and the interval TW and the total recording time are displayed on the display section 3. Thus, the operation is simplified.</p> |
