PURPOSE:To reduce the wear and seizing of pressure rolls and tools while maintaining the stable intake and passage of the work by homogeneously dispersing a solid lubricant excellent in antiwear and anti-seizing properties into water, which is ineffective in reducing coefficient of friction. CONSTITUTION:The lubricant is obtained by mixing swellable mica having an average particle diameter of 20mum or smaller with water at a concentration lower than 10wt.% but not lower than 1wt.% and mixing a powdery solid lubricant therewith. It may further contain 1 to 10wt.% resin, by which a higher deposition efficiency is attainable. The feeding of the title lubricant is initiated before a work reaches the rolls, and ceased after the whole work has passed through the rolling machine. Thus, seizing can be prevented along the whole length of the coil. |
