METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REINFORCEMENT OF DATA VERIFICATION

PURPOSE: To provide a verification system effective with respect to a boot program. CONSTITUTION: A personal computer system with an application program and an operating system includes a microprocessor, a nonvolatile memory, a volatile memory and a data storage device which are electrically connected to a data bus. The nonvolatile memory stores the first part of the microcode of the operating system and the data storage device stores the second part of the microcode of the operating system. The second part of the microcode of the operating system includes the boot program. The first part of the microcode of the operating system verifies the compatibility of the boot program in advance of loading the boot program in the volatile memory.
