PURPOSE:To obtain a speed control method for a truck running on rails which makes it possible for the truck to run under a proper control according to an anticipated speed pattern, to run also safely while checking up the presence or absence of abnormality and to stop correctly at a target position and, besides, which saves the cost of materials and equipment. CONSTITUTION:The distance from a start point of a truck 1 running on rails 9 is detected momentarily by an electro-optical distance meter 3 installed on the ground, and based on a detected value Lon thereof, a speed command set beforehand and corresponding to the position is given. Then, the position of a dog 4 provided along the rails 9 is detected by a photosensor 6 provided on the truck 1, so as to detect that the truck 1 approaches a target position, and a stop command is given at a proper timing after the detection. |
