PURPOSE:To display the remaining quantity data of ink on an ink tank or an ink cartridge and to accurately detect the residual quantity of ink becoming hard to discriminate by the miniaturization of the ink tank. CONSTITUTION:A printing head, an ink residual quantity display means 34 and an ink tank are integrally provided on a printing cartridge 21 and an ink residual quantity detection means 32 detecting the residual quantity of the ink in the ink tank is connected to the ink tank. An MPU 31 monitoring the residual quantity data of ink to issue a command for a way to display the same to an ink residual quantity display control means is connected to the ink residual quantity detection means 32. The ink residual quantity display means 34 composed of an irreversible thermal material is connected to the ink residual quantity display control means 33 controlled by the MPU 31 through a heating means 35. |
