AGENT FOR PREVENTING ADHESION OF THALLIUM 201 TO CONTAINER

PURPOSE:To remarkably suppress the adhesion of thallium 201 to a container while keeping the nuclear medical properties of the element absolutely without influencing its chemical and biological properties. CONSTITUTION:A solution containing thallium 201 and useful as a radioactive diagnostic to be used in myocardial or neoplasm scintigraphy or local brain perfusion scintigraphy is incorporated with a reducing substance commonly known as a reducing agent or an antioxidant, e.g. L-ascorbic acid, sodium sulfite or hydroquinone to suppress the adhesion of thallium 201 to the container. The adhesion of the element is essentially completely inhibited by the treatment to enable the administration of accurate dose of the radioactive substance. Furthermore, the disposal of the container and the exposure management of workers can be carried out without taking particular care.
