<p>PURPOSE:To reduce physical and magnetic damage to a magnetic tape and to keep the stable performance even for the use over a long period by chamfering a peripheral part at the bottom side of a rotary drum and arranging a magnetic drum on this peripheral part. CONSTITUTION:The upper drum 22 is rotated in such a manner that a rotary shaft inserted through a shaft hole 25 formed at the center of the upper drum 22 is driven by a motor. A magnetic head chip 27 is fixed on a lower surface of the upper drum 22 and arranged so as to be slightly protruded from the outer periphery. The peripheral part 22a of the bottom surface of the drum 22 is chamfered and formed so as to make a slope along the periphery of the drum 22. By means of chamfering the peripheral part 22a, the magnetic tape is run without being in contact with the lower edge of this drum 22. By this arrangement, the magnetic tape is never scraped by the contact, and also a magnetic powder, etc., is never stripped off from the tape. The stable performance is maintained over a long period accordingly.</p> |
