The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method and device for manufacturing a secondary cell with which it is possible to sufficiently impregnate the interior of a layered electrode article with an electrolyte while minimizing the operation time and the manufacturing cost through a simple operation. This method for manufacturing a secondary cell includes: a step for inserting, into an exterior container, a layered electrode article in which a positive electrode and a negative electrode are stacked with a separator interposed therebetween; a step for sealing the outer periphery part of the exterior container excluding a portion, prior to or after the layered electrode article has been inserted; and a step for injecting an electrolyte (5) into the external container into which the layered electrode article has been inserted, the unsealed portion being used as an injection port (6a) for injecting the electrolyte (5). In the step for injecting the electrolyte (5), the injection of the electrolyte (5) is started in atmospheric pressure, and subsequently the injection of the electrolyte (5) and a reduction in the atmosphere pressure are performed. |
