<p>PURPOSE:To relief operating force and holding power of the shutter of the damping force adjusting valve of a damping force adjusting type hydraulic shock absorber. CONSTITUTION:A piston 8 to which a piston rod 9 is connected is fit in a cylinder 7 in which oil is sealed. Extending/contracting side main oil paths 11, 14 (damping force is large) is provided on the piston 8 and a by-pass B (damping force is small) is provided on the piston rod 9. The path area of the by-pass B is adjusted so as to switch the damping force by rotating a shutter 23 and adjusting the area of an orifice formed by guide ports 21', 22 and shutter port 24, 25. Sub ports 34, 35 are opened within the guide ports 21, 22. Fluid force acting in sliding direction of the shutter 23 is decreased efficiently by means of such processes that oil liquid ejected from the sub port 34, 35, is made to act so that the oil liquid which is exhausted from the orifice formed by the guide ports 21, 22 and the shutter ports 24, 25 in approximately perpendicular direction to sliding direction of the shutter 23, so that operating force and holding power of the shutter 23 can be reliefed.</p> |
