<p>PURPOSE:To reduce an output voltage of a generator and to detect a trouble of a charging system by so controlling the generator as to optimally generate in response to a driving state of an automobile. CONSTITUTION:A charging system controller 9 inputs a voltage of a battery 4 and an engine speed of a sensor 10 as input information, calculates an optimum field current from the information, and controls conduction of a field coil 1b thereby to obtain an optimum generating amount of a generator 1A. Since the generator 1A generates an output of only one phase having a frequency proportional to a speed of the generator 1A, the controller 9 detects a trouble of a charging system by this output signal to generate an alarm.</p> |
