The invention provides a safe device for storing coins, comprising: - a chest which is provided with a closable door; - an entry opening for admitting coins to the interior of the chest, which is arranged in one wall of the chest; - closure means for closing the entry opening; and - locking means for maintaining the locked position of the closure means before the chest is moved into the active position, in which the entry opening is opened, the locking means being adjustable, when the door is open, from the interior of the chest.
