Protein-containing margarine product

The invention describes a margarine product in which use is made of a vegetable protein product to replace the customary milk constituents. This protein product is derived from carob seeds, which are usually used in animal feed. A margarine product which contains powdered carob seed protein has been found to have excellent properties and to be comparable to standard margarine products which include milk constituents in terms of quality and taste.
