Control arrangement for the pulsed operation of discharge lamps

To control the pulsed operation of discharge lamps, in particular of high-pressure discharge lamps, with little technical outlay for the pulsed operation while maintaining the lamp rating and without additional outlay in terms of security for an optimum starting behaviour and switching off in the case of a lamp failure, a microcontroller with dedicated software is used for controlling the pulsed operation of the lamp. The complicated pulsed regime is controlled entirely by the internal software.
