HIGH-EFFICIENCY, HIGH-RESOLUTION AND REAL-TIME RADIOGRAPHIC IMAGING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To obtain a scintillator plate useful for obtaining a highefficiency high-resolution radiographic system of X-ray medical diagnosis or nondestructive inspection and non-destructive inspection by thermal neutrons. CONSTITUTION: A novel flash optical fiber 8 is used in an array as the scintillator plate for imaging by high-energy radiations, particles, etc. The flash optical fiber 8 is transparent to visible radiations and is a core fiber of plastic on the inner side having a refractive index of about 1.45 or higher. The core fiber of the plastic on the inner side has a cladding material 12 of the plastic having the refractive index smaller than the core fiber 10 of the plastic on the inner side. The core fiber 10 of the plastic on the inner side includes a polymer matrix material; a metallic part; and an or. fluorescent material.
