The invention relates to a revolving gate with three arms which forms a barrier in a restricted access passageway, this gate comprising a turntable which is integral with a platform (7), one of whose faces is fitted with three rollers (8) spaced 120 degrees apart. The turntable is locked by means of a stationary recess (9) in which each of the rollers (8) is housed after the turntable has rotated through 120 degrees, the side (9a) of this recess (9) being movable by virtue of an operating member which moves it into an unlocked position in response to a signal validating authorised access to this passageway. This gate is fitted with an element (21) for braking and damping (cushioning, absorbing) the end of angular travel of the turntable comprising a radial abutment surface (20) which is secured to the platform (7) and a finger (22) which can be retracted inside a guide (23) in opposition to a braking member, movable between an active position and an inactive position. <IMAGE>
