PURPOSE:To improve the durability of pressure regurating means in an auto matic transmission which carries out boost control of engaging oil pressure upon shifting through mannual operation. CONSTITUTION:A shift controller of automatic transmission A which carries out boost control of engage oil pressure of frictional engagement device upon shifting through mannual operation is provided with a shift speed detection means 3 for detecting the selection operation speed of shift stage by a shift operation means 1 through mannual operation, and a boost control means for changing at least any one of the amount of boosting engage oil pressure according to the selection operation speed of the shift operation means 1 detected and boosting continuation time.
