PURPOSE: To provide indication of increase and decrease in depth-of-cut for the router by an apparatus wherein a plurality of notches are formed on a nob and a projection is formed on a scale sleeve and the projection is locked to the notches by rotating the nob. CONSTITUTION: When a nob 26 is turned clockwise, a stud bolt 24 is deeply screwed into a boss 30 and the position of the nob 26 is lowered and accompanied with it, a scale sleeve 34 is inserted into the boss 30 to enable a deep set of a depth-of-cut. When the nob 26 is moved in the counterclockwise direction, the position of the nob 26 is elevated, the scale sleeve 34 is elevated by means of a spring 32 and the depth-of-cut is set to a shallow depth. A plurality of notches 50 are formed on the nob 26 and a projection 54 for locking the notches 50 is formed on the scale sleeve 34. Then, the top face of the nob is elevated and lowered by 1/16 inch on every one rotation of the nob 26. Therefore, the depth-of-cut can be audibly known by locking sound between the notches 50 and the projection 54 and the accuracy for setting the depth-of-cut is improved together with the scale sleeve 34. |
