MEMBRANE FOR SEPARATION BY POLYDISPERSION, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SUCH MEMBRANE AND ITS USE

To separate polydispersions into their continuous and dispersed phases and to separate emulsions into their constituents, a membrane is proposed which has high mechanical strength and stability combined with sufficient permeability and the permeability of which can be adapted in a simple manner to the dispersion and/or emulsion to be separated. The membrane is essentially composed of a porous support framework as carrier for a membrane layer made of bound pulverulent material. The powder grains and binder for forming the layer have properties such that the layer has through-orifices. The continuous phase can pass through these, whereas the dispersed and/or emulsified phase is essentially retained.
