PURPOSE: To attain compatibility with a broadcast signal of a high definition television(HDTV) system by providing an interface to attain diversified image processing for the standard television(NTSC) system. CONSTITUTION: The HDTV 10-0 that receivers and displays an HDTV signal HDi and the digital video tape recorder 200 that receives an HDTV signal or an NTSC signal and records/reproduces the received signal are provided. In the case of recording, an interface 300 is provided, which converts the received HDTV signal into a proper data format to be recorded on the digital video tape recorder 200 and converts the recorded data in the digital video tape recorder 200 into a data format suitable for the HDTV or NTSC of a medium going to be reproduced in the case of reproduction. Thus, in the case that the HDTV system is put into practical use and in co-existence with the NTSC system, all the HDTV and the NTSC signals are all video-recorded and the broadcast signal of the HDTV system is converted into a broadcast signal of the NTSC system and then reproduced. |
