PURPOSE: To provide an optical amplifier, capable of reducing the entire dimension and rationalizing a completion process. CONSTITUTION: This optical amplifier 1 is provided with an optical component and a connection light guide section 14 between the optical component and an electronic and electric power supply and control components 41 and 42. An optical unit 15, provided with the optical component and the connection light guide section 14, an electronic unit 16 provided with an electronic component and electric components 41 and 42 and separated from the optical unit 15 and means 43 and 44 for electrically mutually connecting the optical unit 15 and the electronic unit 16, are provided. By clearly separating the electronic components 41 and 42 from the optical component, the entire dimension is reduced and rationalization in the assembly completion process of the amplifier 1 is performed. |
