PURPOSE:To enable a drain material or the like to be efficiently cut without stopping the excavation work of a shield machine. CONSTITUTION:A cutter head 3 on the front of a shield machine 1 is fitted with a blade mounting body 11. Furthermore, an opening 15 is formed through a bulkhead 5 at a position corresponding to the position of the body 11. Also, the opening 15 is provided with such a gate 18 as capable of freely opening and closing, and a replacing chamber 16 for a cutting blade 13 fitted to the body 11 is provided in the opening 15 in such a way as free to slide fore and aft. A worker enters the chamber 16 for replacing the cutting blade 13.
