PURPOSE:To obtain a softening agent composition, containing a specific quater nary ammonium salt and a specified polypeptide or its derivative and capable of imparting excellent softness and feeling to especially wool and silk fiber. CONSTITUTION:This softening agent composition is obtained by blending (A) 3-30wt.% quaternary ammonium salt expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 are each an 18-21C alkyl or alkenyl divided with ester or amide group including a dividing group; or a 16-20C alkyl or alkenly; R3 and R4 are each a 1-3C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; X<-> is anion) with (B) 0.001-1wt.% polypeptide obtained by hydrolyzing a protein and having 200-500 molecular weight or its derivative. The liquid softening agent composition is capable of imparting excellent softness and feeling to especially wool and silk. A polypeptide prepared by hydrolyzing keratin derived from wool, etc., a collagen polypeptide obtained by hydrolyzing collagen and a polypeptide, etc., prepared by hydrolyzing soybean proteins can be exemplified as the polypeptide. |
