PURPOSE:To reduce distortion of a video image on a visual sense caused when a video image with a small aspect ratio is displayed on a display screen of a wide aspect ratio while its width direction is extended. CONSTITUTION:The circuit is provided with changeover means 15, 17 turning on/off the operation of a vertical pin cushion distortion correction circuit 6 and a horizontal pin cushion distortion correction circuit 3, and also with a changeover means 14 to stop the operation of the vertical pin cushion distortion correction circuit 6 and decreasing a correction quantity of S-shaped correction circuits 12, 13. Since the distortion of a video image in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction including the middle part of a display screen is reduced, the entire distortion on a visual sense is reduced. |
