PURPOSE:To display image data in respective windows in correct colors that the windows originally have without being affected by the color palette settings of a base screen and other windows. CONSTITUTION:Window position storage means 10a-10n for plural windows to be displayed on the screen and color palette setting storage means 11a-11n for the windows are provided, and a color palette value is read out of the window color palette setting storage means 11x corresponding to a window positions storage means 10x whose H address value counted by a horizontal scanning address counter 8 and V address value counted by a vertical scanning address counter 9 match each other; when there is a window at the same position, the color palette setting of the window having top priority which is determined by a display priority determining means 15 is selected and the window is displayed on a monitor 18 through a color palette 17.
