A process for the preparation of a compound of formula (I) : HetSCH2CH2CH=CF2 wherein Het is an optionally substituted 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring, which comprises reacting a compound of formula (II) : HetSH with a compound of formula (III) : CF2=CHCH2CH2L wherein L is chlorine or bromine or a group -OSO2Ra wherein Ra is a C1-4 alkyl group or a phenyl group optionally substituted by a C1-4 alkyl group.
