<p>Disposable plastic articles of manufacture which are fully compostable and resin compounds for making the same are produced by ionizing radiation treatment of normally nondegradable cellulose acetate. The invention resides in and is predicated upon the discovery that radiation treatment of cellulose acetate, e.g., by electron beam radiation, renders the same biodegradable.</p> |
