<p>PURPOSE:To form easily and securely an image of desired dimension or the like without being affected key shrinkage and expansion of a heat sensitive recording material generated by the heating before and/or after recording the image or the like. CONSTITUTION:A method and a device for thermal recording comprise a laser beam generating means 12 for recording an image or the like on a heat sensitive recording material S, a preheating means 14 for preheating the heat sensitive recording material S up to the given temperature lower than the coloring temperature, a sub-scanning and carrying means 16 for sub-scanning and carrying the heat sensitive recording material S in the direction indicated by arrow B and a control section 18 provided with the function of setting the scanning width at the time of recording in compliance with the heat deformation amount generated when the heat sensitive recording material S is heated up to the given temperature lower than the coloring temperature.</p> |
